Without a doubt my favourite food is fillet steak and scallops. And although I’ve posted this creation before (in another form) this version is my most bloody, tasty effort to date.
To create this sumptuous feast you will need:
Meat
- Fillet Steak
- Scallops (Canadian are the best you can get in the UK)
- Olive Oil
Mushroom Side
- Chestnut Mushrooms
- Soy Sauce
- Mixed Dried Herbs
- Salt and Pepper
- Olive Oil
White Wine Sauce
- Onion
- Garlic
- White Wine
- White Wine Vinegar
- Salt and Pepper
- Creme Fraiche
- Butter
Method
Make the sauce first. Chop the onion and garlic and cook in olive oil until soft. Add half a glass of wine and a glug of vinegar and boil down until most of the liquid is gone. Then stir in the creme fraiche and heat. Add some butter and whisk it in. Season then keep warm.
Now cut the mushrooms in half, put in a tray and drizzle with olive oil, soy sauce and sprinkle with herbs and salt and pepper. Pop in the oven for about 20 mins.
Its time for the main event. Hopefully you will have had presence of forethought to rub olive oil on your steak and scallops. Heat up a griddle until its starting to glow red hot (well you know as hot as it will get). Then slap on the steak. Cook for about 4 mins each side (depending on thickness). If you don’t like rare steak don’t eat fillet! Put the scallops on for the last couple of minutes
Serve this mega bad boy up with big fat chunky chips!!!!

This sounds delicious!!! I love surf and turf!
This looks amazing…My husband and I love scallops…WOW!! I want to eat this for supper tonight!!
Two of my favorite foods. Wouldn’t know which direction to point my fork in. Yum.
That is a totally rich and savory meal you prepared. When making mushrooms again…they will go straight into the oven.
That looks great! My boyfriend would love this meal, scallops and steak are his favourites.
Yes this is man food
Decadent lovely winter food!! Scrumptious!! Especially with those fat fries!
Yes the firs soak up all the juicy goodness!
2 of my favorites… scallops and steak! I’ve not heard of chestnut mushrooms before… and I believe I will roast my ‘shrooms next time instead of sauteing them!
Now if you are going to torture me with pictures of red meat again, I am going to tell you off for the lack of green vegetables on the plate!
There’s no room for greens on the plate I’m afraid.
Currently really hate you , showing all these lovely delicious recipes, grrrrrr
Gone are the days we can afford steak in my house…..one of my all-time favourite meals though, when life picks up I will definately be testing this one out!
Is this the British version of surf ‘n turf?
It is indeed – we don’t have access to decent lobster here – if we did it would be on the plate!
This looks really good!
